How an outcome becomes settlement-ready
Each numbered stage creates evidence required by the next. Progress is governed by declared rules, not by an automatic transaction pipeline.

Contract & policy
Define the objective, roles, permitted inputs, evidence, acceptance tests, data boundaries, disputes, and settlement rules before work begins.

Participation
Authorize human, institutional, or machine participants and record the identity, permissions, and commitments relevant to the process.

Work & evidence
Produce the agreed outputs while preserving provenance: who did what, when, with which inputs, methods, and supporting evidence.

Validation
Test each submission against the pre-committed rules. Record passed checks, failures, exclusions, and requests for correction.

Convergence
Apply the declared method to independent evaluations. Preserve disagreement and invoke the dispute route when agreement is not reached.

Accepted record
Create a durable record of the accepted outcome, its evidence, rejected contributions, dissent, and any arbitration result.

Attribution
Assign credit, responsibility, or causal contribution from the accepted evidence and the agreed attribution method—not title or status.

Settlement
Execute the resulting rights, obligations, payments, or rewards under the governing policy and record completion or exception.
Review loop: failed validation, unresolved disagreement, or a dispute returns the record to the relevant earlier stage. Settlement occurs only after acceptance and attribution are supported by evidence.
